From Toronto
The usual advice about picking the nearest clinic assumes a long course of frequent appointments. That is not what this is, and the arithmetic changes once you know how few visits are actually involved.
The arithmetic
A banding session generally treats one hemorrhoid column, so a course commonly runs to two or three appointments spaced a few weeks apart from each other. Add the first consultation and a review on top and you are looking at a small number of trips spread right across a couple of months.
Compare that with a condition needing twice-weekly appointments for two months, which is roughly sixteen journeys, and the travel calculation is completely different. Twenty extra minutes each way across four trips is not the same decision as twenty minutes across sixteen.
Which is why proximity is a weaker argument here than it is for most things. How many sessions explains exactly where that count comes from, the service areas hub makes the same case at more length, and banding covers why one session treats one column.
Planning the trips
Consultation, one to three procedure sessions, and a review. That is the whole commitment, not a weekly standing order.
The same time each visit is easier than rebooking around a diary, and the gaps are weeks rather than days.
Confirmed before you set off, so no trip from Toronto is spent finding out at the desk.
Some follow-up questions do not. Sorting out which at the first visit saves a journey later.
What distance does not change
It is worth being clear about the limits of this argument. Coming further does not get you a faster course, because the gaps between banding sessions are set by the response rather than by the diary. It does not get a same-day procedure either, since screening comes first.
And it does not change the clinical answer. If your grade means an office procedure will not hold, that is true whether you drove ten minutes or fifty, and you will be told so rather than offered a course that was never going to work.
What travelling in can buy you is a proper examination at the very first visit, which is not universal. The examination is the thing genuinely worth travelling for, in office against surgery covers the answer it produces, and choosing a clinic covers how to judge one.

What people ask when they are weighing a slightly longer drive against a closer clinic.
From Toronto, the whole course was three short visits. The examination and first banding were combined to save a trip.
They told me on the phone what to expect so I did not drive in from Toronto for a consultation that could have been a call.
Each visit from Toronto was under half an hour in the clinic. Scheduling was built around the commute.
The Toronto patients they see are mostly on a short course, and that is what I got. Done in ten weeks.
